Founded in 2017, Toledo Villa FC is a pre-professional soccer team located in Toledo, OH. The team plays out of USL League Two's Great Lakes Division. USL League Two is the top pre-professional soccer league in North America, offering a summer platform for aspiring professionals across the United States and Canada. Part of United Soccer Leagues, LLC – which also operates the USL Championship, USL League One, USL Academy and the Super Y League – League Two is the defined and proven pathway for players to progress to the ranks of professional soccer, while its clubs become fixtures in the communities where they operate.
More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have League Two experience. At the start of the 2020 season, there were 199 USL League Two alumni competing in Major League Soccer. During the 2019 season, 382 active USL Championship players had League Two experience, as well as 131 players in USL League One's inaugural season. Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, Newcastle United’s DeAndre Yedlin, and Seattle Sounders FC’s Jordan Morris are among the many U.S. National Team players to have competed in USL League Two before making their professional debuts.
